Ecto - Great Desktop Blogging Client
Chinese says, “工欲善其事,必先利其器 (a good tool is required to do a good job)”. In order to ease my blogging work, I spend USD $17.95 (RM68) on a desktop blogging client — ecto.

I am a freeware lover (who isn’t?!) but I am very happy that I bought the software. ecto is a high ranked blogging client. It has tons of features. I searched for ecto reviews and it is almost 100% positive feedbacks!
I install ecto for two months before I decided to install it. It is a piece of software that required some times to discover its power. I was disappointed by ecto because I don’t understand it, then I forced myself to use it. Two weeks later, I LOVE ecto!
The ecto features I like are ability to ping, trackback, tagging, and file upload. Hey, it helps you to add Amazon.com product link too! The user interface is simple but it works. You need to dig it for the features you want, there are always there. ![]()

flock is a web browser. when it comes to manage many blogs, a blog client does the job better.

After reading this and other sites, I don’t see anything *compelling* about ecto or other desktop clients for blogging. All the services I am aware of already provide a web interface. Your browser can save the passwords. What does a desktop client offer to the average blogger? It can’t be much.
(Besides, I keep wondering how many blogs does the average person need? Sheesh, you’d imagine one was plenty.)
